The Dallas Morning News Recommends Jason Villalba!

Commissioner Maurine Dickey endorses Jason Villalba

April 26, 2012

It is my honor to publicly endorse my friend, Jason Villalba, as the next State Representative from District 114. I believe that Jason is well qualified to continue the level of leadership provided by Representative Will Hartnett for many years in this fine district.

Jason is not only a well-respected partner in the law firm of Haynes and Boone, he is well respected within our community and the County Republican Party.

Prior to becoming a candidate, Jason served as Vice-Chair of the Dallas County Republican Party and was instrumental in the outreach to our Hispanic friends in Dallas County. He chaired the Dallas Chapter of the RNHA (Republican National Hispanic Assembly), a vibrant, dedicated, and hard-working grass roots organization, committed to bridging the Grand Old Party and the Hispanic American community.

Jason served the Dallas community on the Board of the Dallas Housing Finance Corporation and as my appointee to the County’s Citizens Election Advisory Committee. I know Jason to be a man of integrity and a hard-working advocate for all members of the community.

Jason will work well with our party’s leadership in Austin to find workable solutions for the myriad of issues our great state faces with regard to transportation, education, energy, health care, the budget, and many others.

Jason is not only a well-respected partner in the law firm of Haynes and Boone, he is well respected within our community and the County Republican Party. Please join me in enthusiastically supporting Jason Villalba for State Representative from District 114!

Texas Association of Realtors endorses Jason Villalba

April 4, 2012

AUSTIN – The Texas Association of Realtors today announced its decision to endorse Jason Villalba in his election to the Texas House to represent District 114. Making the statement last week, Chairman Joe Stewart applauded Villalba’s commitment to Texas homeowners.

“The next legislative session will be filled with difficult decisions,” said Stewart. “That’s why we need lawmakers like Villalba who understand the critical role homeowners play in keeping our state prosperous, which is why we’ve pledged our full support.”

Texas is leading the nation’s economic recovery, due in large part to its strong real estate market. To maintain that momentum, Texas’ lawmakers must understand homeowners’ concerns and act to bolster homeownership in the state and supporting those efforts is the association’s top priority this election season. Through the candidate interview process of the Texas Association of Realtors, Jason Villalba clearly showed a command of issues critical to sustaining our Texas economy, as well as the needs and challenges our fast-growing state will encounter at the Legislature in the future.

“I am honored to have the endorsement of the Texas Association of Realtors,” Villalba said. “As small business owners, Texas Realtors make the dream of homeownership more affordable for all Texans and I will strive to help support this important goal.”

As one of the largest and most influential trade associations in the state, the Texas Association of Realtors expects to be a considerable grassroots force for Jason Villalba.

Texas Realtors have championed a number of legislative issues enhancing the lives of Texans, such as urging reforms to the property appraisal system in 2011 and 2009, preventing a tax of $600 or more on the personal vehicles of independent Texans in 2007 and advocating for billions in property tax reductions in 2005. Jason Villalba: Why I’m Running

December 1, 2011

We are blessed to live in the greatest place in the world – a state that is defined by independence, and a city that is known for a can-do spirit. But lately, times have been a bit tougher, and we’ve been forced to make tough choices that will impact families today, and into the next generation.

Now more than ever, we need leaders who will put partisanship aside, and work to do what’s right for our taxpayers, our family and our future – and that’s why I have decided to run for the open Texas House seat currently held by Republican Will Hartnett, who has decided not to run for re-election.

The promise of our future lies in creating policies that will create jobs and grow our economy, and in taking bolds steps to dramatically improve our underperforming public schools – and make sure that our children are given the tools they need to succeed and prosper in the future. And, the key to making a difference on these key issues is electing leaders with a sole focus of doing what’s right for our families.

As your State Representative, I am committed to always putting the best interest of our taxpayers and families first – regardless of the issue, partisanship or special interests. If you agree that it’s time for leadership that is effective, conservative and accountable to you, then I would be honored to have your support.
